Who is a nominee?

A nominee is the one who will receive the benefit in case of the unexpected demise of the policy holder. The Policyholder will appoint the nominee.

Things to know before adding nominees to the policy

  • If you want to add more than one nominee to the policy, then you’ll have to allocate the percentage share for each nominee.
  • Percentage share is how the policyholder wants the benefit to get divided among the nominees and it should add to 100%.

  • There are three common types of nominees.
  1. Beneficial nominee - If the nominee appointed is an immediate relative of the policyholder such as a partner, children, or parents, then they are called beneficial nominees.

  2. Minor nominees - If the nominee is under 18 years of age, then they are called minor nominees. In cases like this, It is necessary to appoint a guardian who will receive the claim amount on behalf of the minor nominee.

  3. Changing nominees - The policyholder can change the nominee anytime even after the policy has been issued and before the policy gets matured. The nominee being changed is called a changing nominee.

  • Make sure to fill out the guardian details whenever you add a nominee under the 18 years of age on the Pazcare dashboard.
